Orezone Gold Corporation
Vancouver-based gold producer that became a two-mine company in 2026: Bomboré in Burkina Faso plus the newly acquired Casa Berardi mine in Quebec.
The business
Orezone Gold is a Vancouver-headquartered gold mining, exploration and development company with about 858 employees. Its founding asset is the 90%-owned Bomboré gold mine in Burkina Faso, West Africa. Bomboré began as an oxide operation and is being expanded into harder, deeper ore. A 2.5 Mtpa hard-rock plant was built in Q4 2025, and a Stage 2A expansion (rock breaker, thickener and oxygen plant) was targeting commissioning in October 2026.
On March 25, 2026 Orezone completed the acquisition of the Casa Berardi underground and open-pit gold mine in Quebec, partly financed by a US$100M upfront deposit from a Franco-Nevada subsidiary under a gold stream on Casa Berardi production. The deal turned Orezone into a two-mine, two-continent producer and sharply reduced its dependence on a single West African jurisdiction.
For 2026 Orezone guides to 222,000 to 247,000 ounces of gold (100% basis) at all-in sustaining costs (AISC) of US$2,200 to US$2,400 per ounce, weighted to the second half. A September 2026 life-of-mine plan for Casa Berardi outlines 14 years of production (2027 to 2040) totalling about 1.63 million ounces. Orezone is also working on a preliminary economic assessment for its Heva-Hosco project in Quebec.
The moat
Like most gold miners, Orezone has no durable pricing power; its edge is asset quality and cost position. Bomboré is a large, long-life deposit whose hard-rock expansion is designed to raise throughput and lower unit costs over time.
Casa Berardi adds production in a top-tier mining jurisdiction (Quebec), with an existing mill, 37 km of strike along the Casa Berardi Fault Zone and a 14-year mine plan, which diversifies away from Burkina Faso country risk.
Organic growth optionality from Bomboré Stage 2B (to 5.5 Mtpa, not yet scheduled), Casa Berardi exploration ramping toward 100,000 metres of drilling per year, and the Heva-Hosco project.

Free cash flow yield & sustainable growth
Free cash flow yield : ≈13.6%FCF TTM C$299.46M / market cap C$2.20B (stockanalysis statistics, Oct 13, 2026)
Free cash flow has swung from heavy investment to strong generation. In US dollars it was -$99.5M in FY2022, $35.4M in FY2023, $10.7M in FY2024 and -$40.3M in FY2025 (during the hard-rock build), then $210.9M on a trailing basis to June 30, 2026. Trailing operating cash flow reached US$340.3M against US$129.5M of capital spending.
Q2 2026 was a record quarter. Production was 58,566 ounces (Bomboré 38,063; Casa Berardi 20,503), revenue US$271.6M, adjusted EBITDA US$134.5M, net earnings attributable to shareholders US$45.2M (US$0.07 per basic share) and free cash flow US$80.6M. Consolidated AISC was US$2,449/oz. With production weighted to the second half and Bomboré Stage 2A commissioning, near-term cash flow depends heavily on execution and the gold price.
Valuation & what to watch
Orezone closed at $3.06 on October 13, 2026, for a market cap of about $2.20B (CAD) and an enterprise value of about $2.22B. Net debt is roughly zero. The shares have more than doubled over the past year (52-week range $1.25 to $3.40). They trade at 12.4 times trailing earnings, but only 4.8 times forward earnings, which reflects a full year of Casa Berardi production and record gold prices. The price is 2.4 times sales and 7.4 times trailing free cash flow, about a 13.6% free-cash-flow yield.
The low forward multiple reflects two things: the market's discount for Burkina Faso jurisdictional risk, and uncertainty over whether today's gold prices (a realized US$4,401/oz in Q2 2026) will persist. For context, the Casa Berardi plan's after-tax NPV (5%) is US$1.05B at consensus prices and US$1.43B at US$4,350/oz spot. Those study figures include Inferred resources and are preliminary.
Dividend
Orezone does not pay a dividend; cash flow is being directed to the Bomboré expansion, Casa Berardi development and exploration, and balance-sheet strength.
Risks & the bear case
- Jurisdictional risk: Bomboré is in Burkina Faso, where security conditions, political instability and changes to mining codes or state participation are significant risks for foreign miners.
- Gold-price sensitivity: margins and free cash flow rely on record-high gold prices, and a sharp pullback would compress the earnings that underpin the low forward P/E.
- Integration and operating risk at Casa Berardi, a newly acquired underground mine. Production is expected to dip in Q3 2026 on mine sequencing, operations were temporarily disrupted earlier in 2026, and the Franco-Nevada stream reduces realized prices on part of its output.
- Execution risk on the Bomboré Stage 2A hard-rock expansion and on achieving 2026 production and cost guidance (AISC of US$2,200 to US$2,400/oz).
- The Casa Berardi life-of-mine plan includes Inferred resources and is a preliminary economic assessment, with no certainty it will be realized.

2026-07-20: Announced that Casa Berardi operations had resumed and reaffirmed 2026 production guidance.
2026-08-12: Reported record Q2 2026 results, with 58,566 oz produced, revenue of US$271.6M, adjusted EBITDA of US$134.5M, net earnings of US$45.2M and free cash flow of US$80.6M.
2026-09-15: Released a 14-year Casa Berardi life-of-mine plan (2027 to 2040), with 1.63 Moz of total production averaging 116,000 oz/yr at US$1,877/oz AISC, and an after-tax NPV5% of US$1.05B at consensus prices.
Verdict
Orezone has turned from a single-asset West African developer into a cash-generating two-mine producer, and at record gold prices it trades at a low forward earnings multiple with a double-digit free-cash-flow yield and essentially no net debt. The Casa Berardi acquisition meaningfully diversifies jurisdictional risk, but Burkina Faso remains the dominant concern, and the bull case leans heavily on sustained high gold prices and clean execution on both the Bomboré expansion and the Casa Berardi turnaround. It may interest investors seeking leveraged gold exposure who accept above-average country and operating risk.
