B2Gold

An intermediate gold producer at a cash-flow inflection as its new Arctic Goose mine ramps and diversifies away from Mali risk.

L'entreprise

B2Gold is a Vancouver-based intermediate producer whose cornerstone is the low-cost Fekola mine in Mali, alongside Masbate (Philippines) and Otjikoto (Namibia).

The transformative addition is the Goose mine at Back River in Nunavut, Canada, which reached first production in 2025 and is ramping — its first tier-1-jurisdiction asset.

Output is on the order of one million-plus ounces a year and growing as Goose scales.

Les avantages concurrentiels

Operationally, Fekola is a genuinely large, low-cost orebody and B2Gold has a solid build-and-operate track record. Goose adds Canadian production that lowers the portfolio's political-risk profile.

There is no pricing moat; the swing factor is whether Goose execution and Fekola's Mali standing hold up.

Rendement du flux de trésorerie disponible et croissance durable

Rendement du flux de trésorerie disponible : ≈8.1% (est.)TTM free cash flow ~US$402M (through Mar 31, 2026) ÷ market cap ~US$4.99B ≈ 8%; note FY2025 FCF was ~breakeven during the Goose build, so this reflects a recent inflection.

Full-year 2025 free cash flow was essentially nil as Goose capital peaked; on a trailing basis FCF has since swung to roughly US$400M as the mine ramps.

The bull case is a clean FCF inflection as Goose reaches steady-state; the risk is that the ramp or Fekola disrupts it before the run-rate is proven.

Valorisation et points à surveiller

Around US$3.89 a share, market cap is roughly US$5.0B at a P/E near 9.

Trailing FCF turned positive as Goose came on, putting the cash-flow yield in the high single digits — but 2025 was near-breakeven on FCF because of the Goose build, so the trailing figure reflects a very recent inflection rather than a settled run-rate.

Dividende

About US$0.08 a year, a ~2.1% yield; the payout was reset lower to help fund Goose, so it is modest but now better covered.

Risques et scénario baissier

  • Mali is the central risk — a military-led government, a 2023 mining-code overhaul, and industry-wide tax and permitting disputes (including asset seizures at peers) put Fekola's economics and control in question.
  • Concentration in Fekola, execution risk on the Arctic Goose ramp, and the usual gold-price sensitivity.

Faits récents

Goose achieved first gold in 2025 and continued ramping through early 2026.

Ongoing negotiations with the Malian state over Fekola terms, and a reset dividend as capital was directed to growth.

Verdict

B2Gold is a classic inflection story: a formerly stretched, Goose-building balance sheet turning the corner into positive free cash flow while diversifying into Canada. If Goose delivers and Mali is merely a discount rather than a rupture, the current low multiple looks generous. But Mali is a live, binary-tinged risk, and the trailing FCF is only a couple of quarters old. Higher potential reward, materially higher jurisdictional risk than the seniors. Informational, not a recommendation.
